Envoe Hike in the Elbow Valley

elbowfalls.jpg

On October 19 I went on a hike with my Envoe class and the other Envoe class through the Elbow Valley.  We hike about 10km and ended up at Elbow Falls.  It was really nice but it was a lot of work.  Because we were in the mountains, there was a lot of hills and it got very tiring after a while.

We left the school at 8:00 on a bus and started walking at about 10:15 when we got to the base by Paddys Flats.  The classes split up into two groups and went on different paths.  My class got the shorter path and we hike up on the ridge, stopping every once and a while for a break and lunch.  We continued walking until about 2:30-3:00 when we finally made it to the falls.  The falls were really nice but nothing really unlike anything I'd seen before.  I was great to be finished hiking though, since I haven't been hiking in probably almost a year.  It was really refreshing to be outdoors.  The hiking was great too, and though it seemed like a lot of work, it was great to be hiking and getting excersize again.  I had a great time and I'd like to go hiking again soon.  My most enjoyable parts of the hike were talking with my friends, getting a day off school and just being outside, especially because the weather was so nice.  The hike also made me realise that I could definitly be more fit but I'm not really unfit and that I should make sure to do more activites to increase my fitness level.
